Job Description

Vantive have an opening for an Engineering Co-OpPlacement within the Engineering team in Castlebar, who design and manage many of the Castlebar & Swinford Plants projects. We are seeking a dynamic and analytical Co-op Student to join our Engineering team. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute to solve complex problems and develop new installations and improvements to the existing manufacturing process.

Within this role, the Engineering Co-Op will be required to build, assist and develop multiple projects, liaising with the project team and all associated departments on site relating to the engineering objects gaining hands on experience in a leading medical device company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • To work in a safe manner and in compliance with all Vantive Health, Safety & Environment mandatory policies, standards and procedures

  • Assist and execute key plant projects ensuring timelines are met and deliverables achieved

  • Ability to write User Requirement Specifications and execute Design / Installation/ Operational/Performance Qualification activities as part of project execution

  • Ability to perform risk management and translate the results into action and implementation plans to then execute

  • Identify, develop and maintain stakeholder relationships

  • Support and adhere to personnel policies and procedures

  • Plan and prioritise their workload to ensure that agreed deadlines are met

  • Develop their knowledge of periodic updates to the Project Engineering Manager, Head of Engineering and other relevant personnel

  • Internal Contacts – Work with Production Managers, Supervisors, Engineers and Production Staff

  • External Contacts – Liaise with Suppliers and Vendors inputting to the validation of projects being handled

Job Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field, with a strong academic record.

  • Available for a 6-9 month full-time co-op placement.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in software.

  • The ability to communicate and work with all manner of team members, in a conscientious and inclusive way

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in teams.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey findings and recommendations.

  • Highly motivated self-starter and team worker
