We are actively seeking an Operational Excellence Engineer to drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies across the Castlebar and Swinford sites. This individual should be a strong team player, a Lean Leader with a thorough understanding of the philosophy and practicalities of Lean, with highly developed communication and presentation skills. The role requires a blend of technical proficiency, analytical skills, and leadership to effectively influence cross-functional teams, streamline processes, and ensure operational excellence. The Engineer, while reporting directly to the Operational Excellence Manager, will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure optimal performance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

-Process Improvement: Lead and implement continuous improvement methodologies to optimize operations and reduce waste.

-Data Analysis: Leverage data-driven insights to identify performance gaps, trends, and opportunities for improvement.

-Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with production, supply chain, quality, and other departments to enhance overall operational performance. Work closely with employees at all levels (Font Line associates to Site Leadership) to develop standards for continuous improvement.

-Change Management: Champion organizational change by fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Training and Development: Coach and mentor peers on Lean principles and other operational excellence tools.

-Compliance: Ensure all improvements align with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.

-Project Management: Plan, execute, and manage operational excellence projects to ensure timely and successful delivery.

-Problem Solving and Decision Making: Apply a systematic approach to identifying problems, analyzing root causes, and implementing sustainable solutions.

-Communication and Presentation: Engage in transparent communication and deliver compelling presentations on operational improvements.

Required Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Science, or a related field (level 7 or higher).

-Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt

-Minimum 3-5 years of experience in operational excellence, process improvement, or a related field.

-Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

-Proficiency in data analysis and process mapping tools such as Power BI or Smartsheets.

-Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience:

-Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or similar industries.

-Experience leading operational improvement initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
