Job Title: Quality Systems Co-op Student
Location: Castlebar, Co. Mayo. On-site
Duration: 6-9 Months
Your role at Vantive:
We are seeking a motivated, pro-active and analytical Co-op Student to join our Quality Systems team.
The successful candidate will gain experience in a GMP-regulated environment, learning how quality systems ensure product safety, data integrity, and audit readiness.
Outcomes for the Candidate:
Practical, hands-on experience in Quality Systems processes.
- Work with a mentor to strengthen the skills you have or want to improve upon, as well as develop new ones.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the review, revision, and formatting of SOPs, work instructions, and forms to ensure compliance with current regulations and internal standards.
- Internal audit processes and preparation for regulatory inspections:
- Assist in the tracking, follow up and closure of internal audit findings, ensuring timely closure and proper documentation activities.
- Participate in the internal audit program and external/regulatory quality audits by helping prepare audit checklists, supporting evidence gathering, and documenting outcomes. Building confidence in technical documentation, report writing, and audit preparation.
- Develop skills in root cause analysis, risk management and continuous improvement processes.
- Contribute to quality metrics reporting, including data collection and trend analysis.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives aimed at strengthening QMS processes and efficiency.
- Demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to learning.
- Maintain organised records and ensure files are updated in appropriate systems.
- Additionally, the student will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional departments such as Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Validation, and Regulatory Affairs, gaining a well-rounded understanding of pharmaceutical operations.
Education/Experience:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in a quality/pharmaceutical Science discipline, with a strong academic record.
- Available for a 6-9-month full-time co-op placement.
- Demonstrated ability in critical thinking and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and proactive approach to work.
- Motivated Self-starter.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross functional team.
- Ability to prioritise workload and tasks.
- Accountability and professionalism.
