Your Role At Vantive:
The Senior Director will set the IT strategic direction for Vantive’s Science & Technology Teams including Research & Development, Quality, Regulatory Affairs and Worldwide Medical. This role will direct several IT teams and key projects, managing relationships and will resolve and coordinate complex issues across the business and IT organization. The leader in this role will manage vendor relationships, and will be accountable for the successful implementation of large-scale global projects, while managing and maintaining a large budget. A strong focus on the customer is crucial to be successful in our environment.
Your Team:
You will be part of a newly formed, growing team who focuses on ensuring accurate accounting treatment for complex areas of accounting, evaluating internal controls, and establishing efficient and accurate close processes.
Responsibilities:
• Manage new system builds and modernization across the portfolio. Oversee setting up the new organization for transition, steady state & growth.
• Ensure effective IT solutions are proactively implemented/supported to address/resolve business problems
• Establish and maintain effective business partner relationships/review department long-range strategy with process owners, including the Vice President of Research & Development, Corporate Quality and Worldwide Medical
• Establish operational ownership of IT systems and continuous improvement
• Global oversight of R&D site support, application portfolio management, and leadership of multi-disciplinary teams to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence
• Provide overall direction/leadership for the department. Responsible for adherence to IT standards/processes, and for managing capital/expense budgets within assigned areas.
• Provide leadership, direction, and people management for multiple teams. Work in a matrixed, global environment.
• Define/manage the overall strategic directions/roadmaps for R&D, Medical/Clinical & Regulatory Affairs, and Worldwide Medical. Ensure department goals are linked to short-/long-term business and IT strategies, communicate these goals to the department, business, and other areas of IT.
• Develop strong collaborative relationships within IT/with business customers, including senior levels, to understand long-term business strategies/develop system solutions. Communicate with senior management on status, issues, budgets, and service problems.
• Anticipate, interpret, and resolve complex business, IT, and organizational issues, and ensure coordination across departments or teams
• Manage multiple, significant vendor relationships including software as a service provider and third-party hosting arrangements
• Define, implement, communicate, and drive compliance with processes and standards
• Lead the planning/implementation of large-scale, global projects. Accountable for communication with senior management, and timely/cost-effective projects delivery.
• Develop/manage a large budget including operating and capital project expenses
• Keep current on industry trends in IT and business/functional areas. Participate in the research, analysis, selection and implementation of new tools, technologies, and/or services.
• Develop, gather, and measure relevant productivity metrics/communicate metrics to senior management on a regular basis. Use baseline metrics to drive improvement in the organization, applications, and processes.
Required Experience:
Bachelor's degree or country equivalent
10 years or more of information systems leadership experience in healthcare, life sciences, medical devices or regulated industry, or other related industries
Ability to lead cross-functional, globally distributed IT teams
Preferred Experience:
MBA or Advanced Degree
Success in managing large-scale IT separation, migration, and validation projects
Expertise in managing IT systems that support R&D, regulatory, and scientific operations, including LIMS, QMS, and lab automation platforms
Strong project management skills, budget/financial acumen, and strong business background
Strong business acumen across Regulatory Affairs, Global Patient Safety, Clinical Affairs, Medical Affairs, Research & Development
Experience implementing and managing applications in various environments including AWS, 3rd party hosted and software as a service
Working knowledge of quality systems regulations, QMS, and Validation
Strong team building/talent management skills with demonstrated results of motivating teams to achieve goals
Strong understanding of product lifecycle, process and data relationships
Career learner / curiosity to build new skills and knowledge
Process-oriented and able to define and implement new processes and standards
Ability to managed multiple projects, priorities, and teams across multiple functions
Strategic thinker/strong influencing and communication skills with a track record of delivering on commitments
Strong negotiation skills/orientation towards customer service
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Vantive, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $208,000 - $286,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commission, and/or long-term incentive .
