Role Overview

The Technical Lead – CMMS/Maximo will be responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, and support of the organization’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) with a primary focus on IBM Maximo. This role will serve as a subject matter expert, guiding technical teams and stakeholders to ensure CMMS solutions align with business needs, industry best practices, and compliance requirements.

The Technical Lead will play a pivotal role in system integration, performance optimization, and providing technical direction, while mentoring junior team members and coordinating with global teams to deliver sustainable and efficient asset management solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical authority for Maximo and related CMMS solutions, ensuring system reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Lead system design, configuration, and customization to meet operational and business requirements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, operations, and IT teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Oversee integrations between Maximo and other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, EAM, IoT, SCADA, supply chain).
  • Manage system upgrades, patches, and migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Define and enforce data governance standards to maintain data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues, provide root cause analysis, and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to technical staff, including developers, analysts, and support engineers.
  • Prepare and maintain system documentation, technical specifications, and standard operating procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance CMMS capabilities and user experience.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate IT standards, cybersecurity requirements, and local regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in CMMS/EAM systems, with at least 5 years focused on IBM Maximo.
  • Proven track record in leading technical teams and delivering enterprise-level solutions.

Technical Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of IBM Maximo architecture, configuration, and development.
  • Strong expertise in Maximo Application Designer, Automation Scripts, MIF (Maximo Integration Framework), and BIRT reporting.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Oracle/DB2 databases, and system administration.
  • Familiarity with APIs, middleware, and integration tools.
  • Knowledge of ITIL, asset management processes, and CMMS best practices.
  • Experience with cloud-hosted environments and mobile solutions for Maximo is an advantage.

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work in a global, multicultural environment and manage cross-functional stakeholders.
