Your Role
As a Lead Algorithm Engineer, you will play a key role in guiding algorithm engineers and shaping high-quality clinical software. You will lead medical device embedded control algorithm development toward productization, ensure requirements are met, and collaborate closely with stakeholders, software engineers, and testers, to deliver accurate and efficient solutions. This position involves algorithm development and analysis using MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow, some hands-on coding in C++ and Python, as well as planning and coordinating releases that make a genuine impact on patient care.
What You’ll Be Doing
Guiding algorithm engineers in coding, documentation, and process improvements
Leading development activities for algorithm engineering, ensuring medical device requirements are consistently met
Estimating effort, and scheduling algorithm releases
Designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining algorithms for embedded devices
Participating in architectural, design, and requirements engineering discussions
Managing risk analysis, producing documentation aligned with QA standards, and contributing to user documentation and training
Keeping progress, status, and risks transparent to project teams and stakeholders
Staying up to date on engineering, the best practices, tools, and methodologies
Providing expert product support, and giving input on IT hardware and development tools
What you'll bring:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited institution
Relevant master’s degree or Specialization related to control algorithm engineering highly preferred
10+ years' experience developing requirements, architecture, controls design, models, code, simulations and testing using system artifacts (models, requirements, interface specifications), preferably within a medical device or other regulated industry (aerospace, automotive).
5+ years' experience with Mathworks tools (Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, etc.) with Embedded Code generation
3+ years' experience leading a team and working collaboratively across engineering disciplines, sites and cultures.
Excellent embedded control algorithm development skills
Proven ability to estimate algorithm development and productization
Experience developing in C++ and C.
Clinical experience or medical device experience is considered a plus
Strong leadership qualities to coordinate cross-functional efforts effectively
A continuous improvement approach to both technical processes and personal development
Ability to build relationships, foster trust, and inspire others within a global, multi-cultural environment
A proactive mindset with excellent communication and team collaboration skills
Willing to travel internationally occasionally (<10%)

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Vantive, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $128,000 - $160,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commission, and/or long-term incentive.
