The Manager, Medical Affairs, provides clinical expertise within an individual therapeutic business unit and clinical knowledge for the entirety of the product line(s). The Manager, Medical Affairs, is responsible for aligning his/her team with the Therapeutic Area Leaders and clinical development teams by leading strategic assessment, planning, and execution of scientific communications, and supervises/trains employees with the therapeutic area. Provides medical/clinical expertise and serves as the medical subject matter expert related to products to internal (marketing, manufacturing, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, R&D, and legal) and external (healthcare professionals, patients, advocacy groups, etc.) customers from the U.S. and abroad, and assists in resolution of product queries/complaints. Reviews/approves advertising and promotional, as well as scientific and educational, materials with the therapeutic area. Critical to this role is the clinical knowledge and experience of product lines with the ability to offer guidance for product support and product development, risk/benefit assessment, labeling input, training, literature review(s), complaints, voice of customer and voice of business.
Qualifications
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of extracorporeal technologies in an acute setting.
- Sound scientific clinical approach to medical writing based on previous experience, technical writing, and the ability to analyze information fostering clinical credibility.
- Excellent verbal/writing communication skills, presentation and teaching skills, being computer literate, and able to participate effectively in a cross functional team.
- Ability to analyze, organize, and react to diverse activities in a changing environment often with time constraints.
- Capable of working collaboratively and inclusively across diverse cultures.
- Demonstrates exceptional follow-through with respect to tasks and projects.
Education and/or Experience
- Microsoft Office skills required.
- Minimum: Advanced degree in scientific discipline or equivalent. Preferred PhD, MD, RN.
- Minimum 3+ years’ clinical experience in an acute care setting or intensive care setting, with a strong preference for extracorporeal therapy clinical experience.
- A knowledge of company acute therapeutic products experience a plus.
- Ability to work remotely across multiple time zones required.
- Relevant Industry experience preferred.
