Summary:

• The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day US Gaap accounting and all Statutory and Tax compliance matters in collaboration with BBS KL
• The role requires understanding of complex accounting matters, quick problem-solving skills and strong collaboration with other finance and non-finance teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Continue to support the accounting operations in BBS KL
• Review manual Journals prepared and account reconciliation prepared and submitted by BBS
• Play active role in driving automation initiatives and process improvements in country and support initiatives by BBS
• Respond to queries from local country business and others cross functional team in a timely manner
• Lead statutory audit preparation and interface with PWC for both US Gaap and local stat audits
• Support tax compliance (corporate tax and GST/VAT) with assistance from BBS
• Support tax audits and project manage the audits with assistance from BBS
• Support in providing documentation for Tax Direct and Indirect Tax litigation.
• Support regional and global reporting requirements such as monthly Balance Sheet & P&L Flux analysis
• Support monthly/quarterly/annual close processes
• Ensure adherence of processes to company's policies and procedures, internal and external audit requirements and local rules and regulations; support strengthening of financial processes and controls
• Collaborate effectively with country stakeholders and various global stakeholders including BBS
• Support local, regional, and global projects, as required
• Maintain focus on continuous process improvement opportunities including implementation of various technologies such as Workiva for Stat, One Source for VAT, Kyriba for Treasury etc.,

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven experience in a multinational environment and/or audit
• Good knowledge of US GAAP
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills, diplomatic, flexible and “can do” mind-set
• Fluent in both written and spoken English
• Strong reporting tools including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Education and/or Experience:

Include the education and experience that is necessary to perform the job satisfactorily.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or part qualified ACCA/CIMA/CPA
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required
• Experience in JDE, Blackline, Alteryx and W-Desk is an advantage
• Additional hours at critical times (e.g., month-end) may be required. Also, and on an exceptional basis, the role may require work on public holidays
