Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Should be a master of various technologies with breadth and depth with an ability to leverage the expertise to make choices of technology for business problems and quickly prototype the same to drive decisions on technology.
• Have an ability to drive Technology strategy and convert them into actionable plans for complex software systems with an ability to understand the business / technology / customer / market and regulatory trends.
• Have an ability to drive an engineering culture as a key change agent with focus on core software engineering principles.Drives an Innovation culture in the team and has an ability to mentor the teams on key technological / architectural and design methodologies.
• Responsible for providing leadership within assigned team to ensure key metrics for projects and/or sprints are met.Develops a solid architecture that balances requirements from multiple stakeholders including marketing/product owner, program management, operations, quality assurance and service.
• Must ensure that architecture allows meeting time-to-market, exceeding quality targets, quick diagnosis of problems in the field, quick diagnosis of issues during product development and requirements evolution (scalable / extensible).Responsible for implementing modules/units, performing peer code review, performing unit-testing, subsystem testing and participating/leading various system integration activities.
• Provide technical guidance for a large-scale program, or several small projects with complex features, in the areas of release of new products/line extensions, product improvements, value improvements, changes in regulatory requirements, review supplier-initiated changes, and complaint investigations.
• When applicable leads creation of software requirements based on understanding of deep customer needs and hosts JAD (Joint Application Design) sessions. Responsible for reviewing and supporting creation of defect free requirements/use-cases.
• Responsible for creating user interface design based on current best practices for web based and mobile customer facing applications.
• When applicable responsible for providing design/technical specifications to external design partners.
• Responsible for rapid prototyping of highly innovative concepts for concept/feasibility testing.
• Responsible for leveraging proven design patterns to create software solutions.  Is capable of leveraging off-the-shelf and open source software to provide solutions in the time needed.  Ability to do analysis of build vs buy.
• Responsible for devops architecture improvements and leveraging the same.
• Responsible for ensuring all product development is done while complying with applicable standard-operating-procedures and regulatory standards.
• Proven ability to work with project management to create a plan based on understanding of the technical complexity and risks for the project.  Able to leverage current software best practices for estimating work effort for work packages.

Background and/or Experience:

• Bachelors / Masters .in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related field and 10 + year related experience.

Desired Characteristics

• Demonstrated technical expertise and domain experience and experience
• Understanding of regulated Healthcare industry.
• Previous experience in regulated medical device company. Relevant experience in Agile/SaFE  frameworks, scrum, connectivity platfoms , SAS and software development lifecycle ( SDLC) .
• Significant experience of product engineering
• Significant previous supervisory experience and demonstrated competency in providing leadership to direct reports/indirect reports
• Self-organized and structured execution skills
• Proven track record to lead engineering teams and deliver on business and program goals
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working in an environment where there are multiple projects being worked on simultaneously: balancing resources, timing and quality of outcomes.
• Ability to manage priority tradeoffs in shared resources to optimize program deliveries
• A deep understanding of current software engineering practices and tools with full product life cycle experience. Program (or large scale project) management experience is an advantage.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum way of working
• Knowledge of current quality practices in Software and Product Development
