The Vantive R&D - Analytical Chemistry team currently has an opening for an early career Analytical Chemist. The successful candidate will effectively contribute solid technical knowledge to a variety of projects within the relevant discipline with minimal assistance and display basic technical understanding of related disciplines including:

  • Support strategies and research projects, which are routine and non-routine within areas of expertise to address specific technical requirements of a project.
  • Display an understanding of theories/practices utilized in the primary area of expertise.
  • Support global manufacturing and R&D activities
  • Provides assistance and interpretation of project results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively contribute solid technical knowledge to a variety of projects. Contribute to technical feasibility analysis of various kinds of analytical research and design concepts.
  • With assistance of Senior Analytical Leads design and execute experiments that address multiple variables and require advanced techniques.
  • Evaluate current methods and devise new approaches through adaptations and incorporation of new technologies to meet business objectives such as quality and cycle-time.
  • Collaborate with global teams across various functions (ex. quality, regulatory, operations, manufacturing, etc.).
  • Perform laboratory testing in a regulated environment.
  • Propose techniques and develop analytical methods with assistance.
  • Analyze data, make recommendations, and present status at project review meetings.
  • Advise and troubleshoot issues and propose solutions.
  • Participate in evaluation, validation, or transfer of analytical methods, including investigating failed acceptance criteria.
  • ·Support writing validation and method summaries for regulatory submissions with assistance.
  • Actively participate in technical team meetings.
  • Anticipate and communicate delays and propose solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Possess relevant laboratory/technical, writing, and computer skills (MS Word and Excel etc).
  • Desired hands-on experience with ICP-MS, ICP-OES, AA, UHPLC/HPLC, GC, UV, Polarimeter, (NMR a plus) and other analytical instruments and software.
  • An understanding of ICH, USP guidelines and cGxP practices.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and can shift gears comfortably.
  • Ability to organize and clearly communicate complex information to the project team.
  • Demonstrated ability to write technical reports and protocols with minimal supervision
  • Experience in preparing and delivering presentations on technical work
  • Interpret laboratory data.
  • Quality and detail oriented.
  • Eager to learn new techniques.
  • Ability and willingness to work across global cross-functional teams is essential for being successful in this role.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific discipline (preferred Chemistry) with minimum 3 years or master’s degree with 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Wet Chemistry and/or Analytical lab experience.
  • Experience supporting R&D and manufacturing operations
  • Experience with pharma/drug products is desirable
  • cGxP experience desirable.
