Your role at Vantive

The Consultant, IT WWM Tech Lead, is a senior technical leader responsible for shaping and delivering global-scale solutions for Worldwide Medical (WWM) platforms and integrations. This role provides strategic technical direction, ensures architectural integrity, and partners with business and IT leaders to enable operational excellence and digital transformation across global medical affairs operations.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own the technical architecture and infrastructure design for WWM solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, scalability, security, and compliance requirements.

  • Work with the Delivery Manager to develop and maintain a multi-year technology roadmap for WWM platforms, integrations, and modernization initiatives.

  • Lead technical design and oversee development and testing for complex, multi-workstream programs; set direction, resolve issues, and ensure quality outcomes.

  • Conduct code and design reviews to ensure high-quality, secure, and maintainable solutions that follow best practices.

  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide timely, effective resolutions to maintain system stability and performance.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and operational procedures.

  • Identify and prioritize technical debt and drive remediation plans aligned with roadmap priorities.

  • Mentor and upskill team members, ensuring knowledge transfer and readiness to support and enhance systems.

  • Ensure robust backup and disaster recovery plans are in place, tested, and aligned with business continuity requirements.

  • Manage strategic vendor relationships and SLAs and oversee technical deliverables.

  • Serve as the authorized deputy System Owner for assigned applications during absences; execute delegated authority per change/control thresholds and escalate major decisions to the Delivery Manager.

  • Maintain audit readiness and ensure SOX/ITGC and regulatory compliance (including validation/CSV where applicable) are met for ongoing changes and releases.

  • Oversee validation signoffs and release readiness checks per established procedures; ensure objective evidence is complete and traceable.

  • Govern application lifecycle management (ALM) disciplines: requirements, traceability, test management, defect triage, and release notes using the organization’s ALM tooling.

  • Represent the application in CAB/Change forums; ensure change records, risk assessments, and rollback plans are complete and approved.

  • Coordinate vendors and internal teams to triage incidents/problems and drive root-cause corrective actions; ensure documentation and SOPs remain current.

  • Communicate complex technical concepts to senior stakeholders in clear, business-oriented language.

What you’ll bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

  • 10+ years in IT with at least 5 years in technical leadership or architecture role for enterprise-scale programs.

  • Proven experience with WWM/Operations technologies (Clinical and safety platforms, risk and compliance frameworks, analytics & decision Support) and integration with IAM/SSO, and SaaS platforms.

  • Expertise in API/Web Services (REST/SOAP), integration patterns, and cloud architectures (Azure/AWS).

  • Strong understanding of security, compliance, and IT controls in regulated environments.

  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • Certifications: Azure or AWS Architect, TOGAF, ITIL, Safe/Agile.

  • Experience with data platforms, analytics, and DevSecOps tool chains.
