Role Overview
As a DevOps Engineer at Vantive, you will build upon common off-the-shelf CI/CD platforms and develop custom solutions to automate code integration, versioning, testing and deployment. Your team will use the Scrum framework within the Agile methodology to quickly deliver new features and incorporate feedback from stakeholders. Your expertise in application development, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and test automation will allow you to develop platforms that enable rapid development and repeatable deployments.
What you'll do
• Create modular Infrastructure as Code using CDK for Terraform across many providers.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and AWS CodeBuild.
• Use Policy as Code to replace subjective standards
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
• Deploy containerized applications using Docker and Helm.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless application deployments and system reliability.
• Participate in Agile development cycles and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Maintain and improve security posture through DevSecOps practices, including vulnerability scanning and compliance automation.
• Document infrastructure and deployment processes for internal knowledge sharing and audits.
• Leverage AI to eliminate time spent on common tasks and boilerplate code.
• Write automated System, Integration and Unit tests for platforms.
• Evaluate and implement static analysis tools that identify vulnerabilities, licensing and compliance issues before they impact production systems.
• Drive efficiency and standardization in the technologies, tools and techniques used by the team.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including application and migration teams, to elicit requirements.
• Refine the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) to eliminate non-value-added practices.
What you'll bring
• 3–6 years of experience in DevOps or related roles.
• Proficiency in AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, RDS, CloudFormation, CodePipeline, etc.).
• Proficiency in Azure services (VMs, App Service, AKS, SQL, Cosmos DB, Key Vault, etc.).
• Experience creating images with Packer.
• Experience integrating with third party solutions.
• Familiarity with networking, DNS and storage concepts.
• Strong Shell and Python scripting skills.
• Experience with source control tools like Git or Bitbucket.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and logging frameworks.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile, and ITIL principles.
• Exposure to security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and ISO; Qualys or Wiz experience is a plus.
• Passionate about continuous learning and leveraging modern technologies/patterns.
• Must be willing to work on a distributed team.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• AWS Certification (Associate or Professional) is highly preferred.
• Azure Certification (Associate or Expert) is highly preferred.
