Process Validation Co-Op Placement 2027

Location: Vantive Manufacturing, Castlebar, Co. Mayo
Department: Quality, Process Validation
Placement duration: Six months or longer
Working arrangement: Full-time and onsite

About the Opportunity

Vantive is offering an exciting Co-Op placement for a student studying Pharmaceutical Science, Process Validation, Quality Assurance, or another relevant scientific discipline.


Based at our Castlebar manufacturing site, you will gain practical experience in process validation, quality systems and manufacturing operations within a tightly regulated environment.

You will receive comprehensive training before undertaking assigned tasks and will work under the supervision of experienced validation professionals. All validation deliverables completed by the student will be reviewed and approved by Quality and Technical Approvers to ensure compliance with site procedures and quality requirements.


What You Will Work On


As a Process Validation Co-Op, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about the validation lifecycle and the different deliverables required within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Support the preparation of process validation protocols.
  • Participate in protocol execution and report writing.
  • Assist with equipment qualification and validation activities.
  • Support the collection of samples and completion of validation test cases.
  • Learn why new and replacement manufacturing equipment must be tested to confirm that it operates as intended.
  • Support Validation Periodic Reviews and follow agreed activities through to completion.
  • Work with site validation software and electronic systems.
  • Assist with the management, tracking and execution of validation documentation.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Technical, Engineering, Manufacturing and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Contribute to plant-critical and strategic validation projects.

What You Will Learn


During your placement, you will develop an understanding of:

  • Process validation principles and lifecycle activities.
  • Good Manufacturing Practice requirements and validation best practices.
  • The role validation plays within manufacturing and quality assurance.
  • Equipment qualification and protocol execution.
  • Validation Periodic Reviews and equipment lifecycle management.
  • Sample collection and test-case activities.
  • Process validation protocol preparation and report writing.
  • Site validation systems and electronic tools, including VMS, SRD and TcU.
  • Working effectively within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Cross-functional teamwork and stakeholder communication.

Training and Support


You will complete a structured programme of training and onboarding, including:

  • Company and departmental orientation.
  • Job-specific training covering validation principles and requirements.
  • Training on the different phases of validation.
  • Quality, safety and compliance training.
  • Training on relevant validation systems and software.
  • Grade C training, where required.
  • Side-by-side mentoring with a trained Process Validation Engineer.
