Shape medical strategy in critical care across EMEA | Remote within selected European markets | Approximately 30% travel
Are you a senior physician and Medical Affairs leader ready to influence the future of vital organ therapies across Europe? Vantive is looking for a Senior Medical Director to lead regional medical strategy across EMEA while also providing hands-on medical leadership for a key cluster. This is a high-impact role for an expert who can combine deep critical-care knowledge with scientific credibility, clear communication and the ability to lead through change.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Vice President, Head of Global Medical Affairs, you will set and execute the EMEA medical strategy with a strong focus on Acute and Vital Organ Therapies. You will represent Medical Affairs in senior regional leadership forums, guide cluster medical teams and work closely with global subject-matter experts, commercial leaders, R&D and other cross-functional partners. Your insight will help shape evidence generation, medical education, product development and growth priorities—always with scientific integrity and patient value at the centre.
What you will do
- Lead and deliver the EMEA medical strategy for Acute and Vital Organ Therapies, aligned with regional priorities, cluster needs and enterprise goals.
- Act as the senior medical lead for a key EMEA cluster and coach Medical Affairs colleagues to strengthen capability and consistent execution.
- Provide authoritative expertise across critical care, including CRRT, extracorporeal blood purification, CO2 removal, anticoagulation and digital connectivity.
- Build trusted peer-to-peer relationships with key opinion leaders, investigators, clinical networks and scientific societies.
- Turn clinical evidence, treatment pathways and external insights into practical medical strategy, education and field tools.
- Lead or support evidence-generation initiatives, real-world evidence, advisory boards, congress activity and scientific communications.
- Partner with global and regional teams on product lifecycle strategy, launch readiness, clinical claims and future innovation.
- Represent EMEA Medical Affairs in senior leadership forums and bring a strong medical voice to cross-functional decisions.
What you will bring
- A Medical Degree with formal specialist or fellowship training relevant to critical care or vital organ support.
- Deep clinical and scientific expertise in acute care, renal replacement therapy or related vital organ therapies.
- Senior Medical Affairs experience spanning evidence generation, medical education and external scientific engagement.
- A record of thought leadership, professional-society involvement and peer-reviewed research or publications.
- Strong executive communication, influencing and change-leadership skills in a complex, matrixed environment.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to translate complex medical and scientific insights into strategies that support business growth, market development and patient value.
- The judgement to balance scientific, patient and business priorities while maintaining rigorous ethical and compliance standards.
- Fluent English at professional level; additional European languages are valuable depending on cluster coverage.
Location and travel
This is a remote role based within selected European markets, with approximately 30% travel across EMEA and the relevant cluster for strategic customer engagements, congresses, education, evidence-generation activities and high-impact initiatives.
