Profile Summary
Project & Process Engineer | NPI | Validation | Manufacturing Engineering
Industrial/Other Engineer with experience in leading New Product Introduction (NPI), product transfer, process validation, and manufacturing improvement projects. Skilled in managing cross-functional teams, equipment qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ), process optimization, investigations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives within regulated manufacturing environments.
Key responsibilities
- Team Guidance & Motivation: Lead and mentor a cross-functional team, fostering a collaborative, positive, and high-performance work environment to execute production line transfers, manufacturing scale-ups to enhance quality, productivity, and efficiency and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Process Validation: Lead validation activities for equipment and processes including Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) activities in accordance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and procedures.
- Direction & Execution: Set the overall rhythm and tactical direction of the project, ensuring all members understand milestones, deliverables, and expectations.
- Task Coordination & Workflow: Delegate tasks effectively, align daily activities with project objectives, and monitor progression against established timelines.
- Stakeholder Communication : Serve as the primary point of contact for project updates, relaying vital information between leadership, stakeholders, and the core team.
- Problem Solving & critical thinking: Proactively identify project blockers, de-escalating issues swiftly to maintain productivity.
- Risk & Change Management : Spot potential project risks early, helping formulate mitigation plans and guiding the team smoothly through shifting priorities or scope adjustments.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: [2–3+] years of experience in Project Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Validation Engineering, or a related industrial environment. Familiarity with regulated manufacturing environments (Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, or similar industries) is preferred.
- Leadership & Interpersonal Skills: emotional intelligence, motivational skills, and the ability to rally diverse personalities toward a single goal.
- Communication : written and verbal communication skills, with an aptitude for active listening and transparent stakeholder reporting.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities under pressure or tight deadlines.
- Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with project management and collaboration software (e.g., Jira, Trello, Monday.com, MS project, etc.). Use of statistical tools (ANOVA, DOE, SPC, MSA, etc.) is an advantage.
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- Fluent in English and French.
