Summary

The Junior Buyer supports the Supply chain team in sourcing components necessary for company operations. This role focuses on day‑to‑day purchasing activities, supplier coordination, data management, and ensuring timely deliveries while learning and applying procurement best practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Purchasing

  • Prepare and issue purchase orders in line with approved requests.

  • Monitor order confirmations and follow up on pending or delayed orders.

  • Maintain accurate purchase records and update ERP system transactions.

2. Supplier Coordination

  • Communicate delivery requirements and resolve order discrepancies with suppliers.

  • Track supplier performance (delivery times, responsiveness, quality feedback).

  • Support on boarding new suppliers by collecting required documentation.

3. Inventory & Planning Support

  • Collaborate with planning and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels.

  • Report risks of shortages and escalate urgent supply issues.

  • Help analyze slow‑moving or obsolete items when needed.

4. Cost & Data Management

  • Maintain up‑to‑date price lists and purchasing data.

5. Cross‑functional Support

  • Coordinate with production, quality, and logistics to ensure smooth supply flow.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance or others.

Experience

  • 0–2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain (internships included).

Skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic negotiation ability and willingness to develop negotiation expertise.

  • English

  • Good knowledge in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables a plus).

  • Familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage (JDE).
