Your role at Vantive

Vantive is seeking a licensed attorney to practice law in Mexico. This attorney is highly technical, strategic, and business-oriented to join LAN's legal team. The ideal candidate will be an expert in Mexican law, providing specialized and proactive legal advice.

We are seeking someone with experience in the healthcare industry and a deep understanding of the Mexican legal framework, with the ability to offer clear and practical solutions. This individual will not only manage day-to-day legal matters but will also be a strategic partner who ensures business objectives are achieved safely.

What you’ll be doing

The successful candidate will embrace the professional standards of the Legal Department and demonstrate the experience and qualities of a valuable business lawyer through the following responsibilities:

  • Specialized Legal Advice: Provide sound and timely legal advice on local Mexican legislation, corporate law, public procurement, and healthcare regulations. Identify potential operational and business risks and effectively manage them with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Contractual Process Management: Lead the management of private and public procurement processes, including drafting, review, and negotiation.

  • Strategic Collaboration: Understand business objectives and their legal implications and develop strategies that support these objectives, advising internal clients on various matters that could impact the business.

  • Industry Regulatory Knowledge: Stay up to date on changes in Mexican healthcare legislation (pharmaceuticals, medical devices, interactions with healthcare professionals), as well as on relevant areas of law such as antitrust, public procurement, and data privacy.

  • Corporate Structure Governance and management: Manage legal entities in the region, keep their corporate books, appointments, powers of attorney, boards of directors, minutes, and related documents up to date.

  • Litigation and Dispute Management: Support the management and supervision of litigation and disputes in the region, effectively coordinating with external firms when necessary to ensure efficient management of resources.

  • Internal Training: Develop and deliver training to business teams on relevant legal topics, promoting a culture of ethics and compliance.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in law from a recognized Mexican university, with a current professional license. Experience advising businesses in other countries in the region (Central America and the Caribbean) is desirable.

  • Six (6) or more years of relevant professional experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.

  • Demonstrated experience negotiating and drafting complex contracts.

  • Extensive knowledge of the Mexican legal framework, including health regulations, corporate law, privacy law, and data protection.

  • Proven ability to resolve complex legal issues and provide clear, practical, and solution-oriented advice, working in coordination with different functional areas.

  • Ability to work independently, be proactive, and manage a significant workload.

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English required.

  • Impeccable ethics and integrity.

  • Analytical thinking focused on business and practical solutions, anticipating obstacles with a strong ability to collaborate with different teams with an approach based on trust, collaboration, and resourcefulness.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment, quickly adapting to new priorities and challenges.

  • Proactive and proactive in identifying legal risks and advising the business and operations on their mitigation.

  • Ability to work independently and manage a heavy workload, defining clear priorities and deadlines.

  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant area of law for the position.
