Your Role

This role is designed for a JDE professional who enjoys connecting functional Order Management, Hardware Tracking, Supply Chain, Finance, and Master Data expertise, and global or regional transformation initiatives. The position will provide visibility across enterprise data governance, business process standardization, rollouts, upgrades, and continuous improvement for JDE-enabled operations.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Master Data Management (MDM) Functional Lead with deep expertise in JD Edwards ERP to oversee and drive the management, governance, and optimization of master data within our organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of MDM best practices, with hands-on experience in implementing and supporting master data processes, workflows, and system integrations specifically within JD Edwards. The MDM Functional Lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity, while providing functional guidance and support for the ongoing evolution of master data processes to meet business needs.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the functional design and implementation of Master Data Management (MDM) processes within JD Edwards, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and integrity across the organization. Including item, customer, supplier, product, inventory, sales order, purchasing, and manufacturing-related master data touchpoints where applicable. 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for MDM strategy, governance, and best practices within the JD Edwards ERP ecosystem, ensuring alignment with global business requirements.

  • Define and document data management standards, processes, and workflows for key master data domains, including customers, suppliers, materials, and products within JD Edwards.Extend the scope to distribution, supply chain, inventory, sales order management, purchasing, manufacturing, and finance data touchpoints that depend on accurate and governed master data.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders (e.g., supply chain, finance, IT) to understand business requirements and translate them into functional specifications for MDM solutions.Strong cross-functional facilitation  translating business needs into practical JDE functional designs.

  • Configure and maintain master data processes within JD Edwards, including data creation, updates, and deletions, ensuring seamless integration between JD Edwards and other systems.

  • Ensure data governance, quality, and compliance by implementing controls, policies, and procedures for managing master data in alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Lead the data migration efforts for master data when migrating from legacy systems into JD Edwards, ensuring data integrity and completeness.

  • Develop and maintain MDM reporting and analytics within JD Edwards to track master data health and compliance with established standards.

  • Manage the integration of JD Edwards with other systems (e.g., CRM, PLM, third-party applications) to ensure master data flows seamlessly across the enterprise.

  • Collaborate with the technical team to define and manage integration points, ensuring accurate and efficient data synchronization between JD Edwards and external systems.

  • Contribute functional and technical JDE expertise to reporting, development-tool related analysis, issue resolution, and data-related enhancements, partnering with technical teams when required.

  • Provide Subject Matter Expert leadership across JD Edwards EnterpriseOne/World environments, helping translate lessons learned from global and regional deployments into scalable MDM practices.

  • Partner on project planning and execution activities using structured delivery practices and collaboration tools to support on-time milestones, stakeholder alignment, and business readiness.

  • Provide functional support and training to business users, ensuring effective usage of the MDM processes within JD Edwards and driving continuous improvements.

  • Ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements regarding master data management, ensuring that all data is maintained in a secure, compliant, and auditable manner.

  • Lead initiatives for data quality improvements, identifying areas for enhancement, automating processes where possible, and optimizing data-related workflows to support business decision-making.Use hands-on reporting and analytical experience to make master data quality, compliance, and process adoption visible to business and IT stakeholders.

  • Manage MDM projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of MDM-related initiatives.

  • Provide practical end-user training, hypercare support, and process coaching to drive adoption and sustainable improvements across regions.

What You’ll Bring 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Data Management, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience working with JD Edwards ERP, specifically in the management of master data across multiple domains (customers, suppliers, products, etc.).

  • Proven expertise in Master Data Management practices, including data governance, data quality, and data integration within an ERP environment.

  • Experience with JD Edwards 9.2 or later versions, including the configuration and management of master data modules.

  • Ability to create functional specifications for system requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions for MDM processes.

  • Proven track record in data migration, ensuring the successful transition of data from legacy systems to JD Edwards ERP.

  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and industry best practices for maintaining master data integrity and quality.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess the quality of master data and implement solutions to address data issues.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical teams.

  • Experience in project management, particularly in leading MDM-related projects or ERP system upgrades and enhancements.

  • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools to monitor and improve master data quality and compliance.

  • Ability to provide functional training and support to end-users, helping them understand the importance of master data and ensuring adoption of MDM practices.

  • Experience with data cleansing, enrichment, and validation processes, with the ability to identify and resolve data quality issues proactively.

  • A solid understanding of data security and compliance requirements related to master data management.
