The R&D Project Leader II is a part of the R&D organization that supports Vantive’s global business. Within the team, we provide R&D focused support for all product phases, innovation initiatives, new product development and improvement programs for existing therapy systems. This collaborative role gives you the direct opportunity to define solutions to new products challenges and services to patients and continue Vantive’s mission to extend lives and expand possibilities.
Vantive is a global company with R&D sites at multiple locations in the world; competences and capabilities are spread over the different R&D sites, and you will commonly collaborate with colleagues across several of these R&D sites and with other functional representatives. The Drug Products and Sciences (DP&S) organization is responsible for Kidney Care drug products (dialysis solutions, concentrates, etc) and related sciences (Sterility Assurance, Analytical Chemistry, Materials compliance, Extractables & Leachables, Toxicology). As a member of the Drug Products and Sciences organization, the R&D Project Leader II will have responsibility for supply chain management of R&D builds, ensuring that all components are built and delivered on-time and available to support R&D efforts including samples for testing. This role will be responsible for supporting multiple projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work with global R&D teams and supply chain teams to manage and coordinate all R&D activities at Vantive’s EU mfg. sites -with primary focus being on the Castlebar site
· Participate on research and development (R&D) project teams and support inventory management of development builds for drug products, medical devices, and other regulated healthcare products
· Partner with the R&D Integration Office, Drug Product and Sciences teams to ensure inventory is effectively tracked and work with Vantive sites to ensure on-time shipments
· Owner of inventory management list to ensure all BOM components are accounted for and planned appropriately to meet the needs of R&D project schedules
· Responsible for timely shipping of test articles to relevant global locations
· Participates as a member of cross functional teams and works globally with Vantive R&D and Production sites
· Accountable for proactive management of inventory and resolving any issues that arise
· Clear communication of status, risks and issues to R&D project team members and leadership
- Across multiple parallel projects, identify and evaluate interactions/dependencies and potential synergy opportunities
Education and experience required:
· 7+ years of relevant experience in a supply chain and/or inventory management capacity
· Bachelor’s degree in STEM disciplines and project management certification or demonstrated experience is required for this role
· Proven history of ensuring on-time execution and delivery of raw materials for non-standard development builds
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills in written and verbal form
· Demonstrated ability to proactively manage issues and risks and develop contingency plans
· Ability to participate on global R&D project teams and to meet tight deadlines
· Experience in a regulated industry required
