The Lab Technologist will be located at the Malta Packaging and Engineering Laboratories in Kordin, Malta. The Position encompasses the physical analysis and testing on Medical Devices and Disposables, Containers, and Packaging and Distribution throughout the developmental stages of the Product and Manufacturing Process.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Conduct Functional Testing on Medical Devices, Containers, and Packaging components independently.
- Coordinate functional testing for Laboratory personnel.
- Understand Test Method principles through short-term and long-term projects.
- Understand moderately complex Laboratory instrumentation and computer systems to collect and record data.
- Occasionally represent the Laboratory as approver for Studies.
- Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with company SOPs and specifications, FDA, CE, GLP, and cGMP regulations.
- Participate in cross-functional teams, which impact production, increase efficiency, solve problems and generate cost savings.
- Perform Laboratory audits as required.
- Maintain adequate inventory of Laboratory supplies.
- Coordinate or perform on time equipment maintenance and calibrations as required.
- Document the completion of testing in Notebooks and/or Data Sheets. Maintain accurate and complete quality records. Peer Review data as needed.
- Follow, understand and comply with Vantive SOPs and policies on cGMPs and safety. Maintain a clean, safe and organized lab area, and assume responsibility to ensure that others maintain their lab areas.
- Support improvement projects and drive efficiency through utilization of LEAN management principles.
- Proactively and cooperatively communicate with peers and management to ensure awareness of progress and issues; recommend solutions when issues arise.
- Manage other projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- National Diploma / Higher National Diploma or equivalent, in Engineering or in a Science related field
- Experience (2+ years) working in a Laboratory setup will be preferred
- Knowledge of Electronic Laboratory Notebook
- Knowledge of GLP, cGMP requirements
- Good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
- Good critical thinking/problem solving skills
- Good computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated, willing to adapt, and have a positive attitude in a dynamic environment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25Kgs periodically
