About the role

The Director, EMEA Controller is a senior finance leader responsible for end‑to‑end controllership across the EMEA region, with direct accountability for statutory, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements in Ireland, Vantive’s most complex statutory jurisdiction in the region. This role serves as the primary controllership leader for EMEA and will act as a key leader over accounting activities in our shared service centers, ensuring strong financial governance, accurate and timely close and reporting, and effective coordination with Global Accounting, Tax, Treasury, and Internal Controls.

In addition to managing current‑state regional and Irish statutory requirements, this role is expected to play a key leadership role in Vantive’s evolution toward a more globally aligned, process‑oriented controllership model, supporting standardization, scalability, and increased use of shared services and centers of expertise. The ideal candidate will act not only embrace change, but will drive process improvement, simplification and efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

EMEA Overall Controllership

  • Serve as the EMEA Overall Controller, accountable for regional close, financial accuracy, balance sheet integrity, and compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for EMEA entities, including review of key judgments, estimates, reserves, and complex transactions.
  • Act as the primary EMEA point of contact for Global Accounting, Technical Accounting, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and Internal Audit.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and technical oversight to EMEA country and cluster controllers, fostering consistency and high-quality execution across the region.

Ireland Statutory & Regulatory Leadership

  • Own and manage the Irish statutory structure, including multiple legal entities, local GAAP financial statements, statutory audits, and regulatory filings.
  • Partner closely with Tax on Irish corporate tax, VAT, transfer pricing, and other local compliance requirements, ensuring alignment between statutory, tax, and US GAAP reporting.
  • Lead coordination with external auditors, advisors, and local stakeholders in Ireland, ensuring timely, accurate, and well‑governed outcomes.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter leader on Ireland‑specific accounting, statutory, and governance matters, including entity structuring, intercompany arrangements, and local reporting obligations.

Governance, Controls, and Risk Management

  • Ensure strong internal controls over financial reporting across EMEA, in partnership with Global Internal Controls and Compliance.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate accounting, compliance, and operational risks, particularly those arising from complex statutory structures and cross‑border activities.
  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation, issue resolution, and remediation of findings.

Global Operating Model & Future‑State Leadership

  • Actively support Vantive’s transition toward a more global, process‑oriented controllership model, emphasizing standardization, scalability, and clarity of accountability.
  • Partner with Global Accounting leadership to transition appropriate activities to shared services or centers of expertise while maintaining strong regional oversight.
  • Drive simplification of legal entity structures, processes, and reporting where feasible, particularly within Ireland and EMEA.
  • Contribute to global controllership initiatives, including systems improvements, close optimization, automation, and policy harmonization.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high‑performing controllership team across EMEA, fostering technical excellence, strong business partnership, and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
  • Build trusted relationships with regional and global finance leaders, as well as key non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex accounting and statutory matters clearly to senior leadership, balancing technical rigor with practical business insight.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting and controllership experience, including leadership roles in multinational organizations.
  • Deep expertise in US GAAP, statutory reporting, and regional controllership within EMEA.
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience with Ireland statutory reporting and governance, including multi‑entity structures and audit management.
  • Proven ability to lead through complexity and ambiguity, balancing local requirements with global standards.

Preferred:

  • Experience operating within or transitioning to a global, process‑oriented or shared services accounting model.
  • Prior experience in regulated, highly complex, or matrixed organizations.
  • Strong technical accounting background, including complex transactions, intercompany, and consolidation matters.
