SUMMARY (Why) – Purpose of the position


The Manager, Finance FAST Intercompany, Costing, Transfer Pricing & Controls Lead provides functional leadership within the Finance Application Systems Transformation (FAST) organization. The role is responsible for supporting the stability, control, documentation, and continuous improvement of assigned finance application and finance master data capabilities within J.D. Edwards (JDE), with a focus on intercompany, costing, transfer pricing, and finance controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (What)

Core Accountabilities

BUILD – Functional Design, Knowledge Transfer & Change Delivery

  • Provide functional expertise for finance application configuration, posting logic, integrations, and embedded controls within assigned domain(s).
  • Support requirements definition and translate finance business needs into clear, testable functional designs and specifications.
  • Partner with IT delivery teams to ensure solutions are scalable, controlled, and aligned to finance and audit requirements
  • Lead and support knowledge transfer and TSA exit enablement within assigned domain(s), helping the FAST organization build sustainable operating capability.
  • Create and maintain foundational operating documentation where gaps exist, including:
    • Runbooks and playbooks for daily, weekly, monthly, and close‑critical activities
    • SOPs, job aids, decision trees, and exception‑handling guidance
    • Documentation and evidence standards aligned to SOX and audit requirements
    • A sustainable documentation repository with ownership and version discipline
  • Support the operating measures needed for a scalable service model, including:
    • Definition of KPIs and metrics for KT progress, readiness, stability, and quality
    • Design and adoption of a case management / intake and logging approach to ensure support interventions are captured, categorized, and traceable
  • Coordinate functional testing, UAT support, and release readiness for finance-impacting changes.
  • Ensure enhancements and projects are delivered with minimal risk to close, controls, and financial reporting
  • Support enterprise initiatives such as entity setup, integrations, system enhancements, and transition‑related stabilization

RUN – Operational Stability, Close Readiness & Controls

  • Support the functional stability and predictable operation of finance applications and finance master data within assigned domain(s).
  • Help ensure repeatable, high-quality close outcomes through disciplined cut-off, issue prevention, and timely support.
  • Safeguard SOX compliance and audit readiness through strong system controls and disciplined execution
  • Serve as a functional escalation point for close-critical, audit-impacting, or high-risk finance system or data issues.
  • Partner with FAST Analysts and managed services to operate a tiered support and escalation model, including:
    • Incident and defect triage and prioritization
    • Functional root‑cause analysis and impact assessment
    • Validation of fixes prior to deployment
  • Use recurring issue trends and logged intervention data to reduce repeat defects and improve stability over time

OPTIMIZE – Simplify, Standardize & Improve

  • Continuously identify opportunities to simplify configuration, reduce manual workarounds, and eliminate unnecessary complexity
  • Support standardization of finance application and finance master data patterns, controls, and usage across assigned domain(s).
  • Collaborate with Finance, IT, and Data teams to strengthen embedded controls and data quality
  • Supporting automation, analytics, and AI readiness as outcomes of stable operations and strong data discipline
  • Contribute input to FAST roadmap planning, prioritization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support intercompany, distribution costing, and transfer pricing system capabilities, including configuration, controls, and L2 support.
  • Perform and support security reviews and Segregation of Duties (SoD) controls across finance applications, ensuring compliance with audit and governance requirements (Strategic / Major)
  • Enforce testing discipline within finance applications, ensuring all changes are validated, controlled, and audit-compliant prior to release (Strategic / Significant)
  • Provide audit support for finance systems, including documentation, evidence preparation, and control validation (Tactical / Significant)
  • Coordinate with FAST domain teams (A2R, P2P, O2C, MDM) to promote consistency in system design, controls, and operating practices.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize controls, configuration patterns, and operating approaches across assigned domain(s).
  • Provide L2 support and functional expertise for complex, cross-domain issues impacting finance systems and reporting (Operational / Significant)

JOB REQUIREMENTS (How)

1.    Essential skills, knowledge, and experience

  • Strong understanding of intercompany, costing, transfer pricing, and related finance system enablement.
  • Experience with finance application security, SoD frameworks, and audit/compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to enforce testing governance, release discipline, and audit readiness.
  • Experience working across finance domains such as A2R, P2P, O2C, and MDM.
  • Hands-on experience with JDE finance systems and cross-functional integrations.
  • Experience providing L2 support and resolving complex, cross-domain issues.

2.    Communication requirements

  • Regular interaction with Finance, IT, FAST domain teams, Data, Audit, and Risk/Compliance teams.
  • Ability to communicate control, audit, and system risks clearly to stakeholders.
  • Ability to facilitate cross-domain alignment and resolve issues through clear, practical communication.

3.    Innovation / problem-solving

  • Resolve complex cross-domain system and control issues.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen controls while simplifying processes.
  • Drive improvements in testing, audit readiness, and governance effectiveness.

4.    Knowledge requirements

  • Practical knowledge of finance control frameworks (SOX, audit, SoD).
  • Understanding of cross-domain finance system dependencies and integration points.
  • Familiarity with JDE security models and control enforcement

5.    Competence and behaviors

  • Strong governance and control mindset.

  • High level of attention to detail and compliance orientation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.

6.    Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8–12 years of experience in finance systems, JDE enablement, or finance transformation roles.
  • Strong understanding of finance processes, accounting principles, close, and internal controls / SOX.
  • Hands‑on experience with JDE finance modules and related finance applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to support knowledge transfer, documentation build-out, and operating discipline in environments with limited existing documentation.
  • Proven experience balancing operational stability and change delivery in complex environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including root‑cause analysis.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to partner across Finance, IT, Data, and Controls.
  • Experience working in global, matrixed organizations preferred.

7.    Language skills

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and the local/native language is required.
