Summary:

This individual shall direct and/or support activities to plan, establish and qualify cross-functional production process and/or automation projects /digitalization technologies for manufacturing plants in Asia-Pacific region. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Contributes to the set-up of production /automation/digitalization facilities and utilities from Engineering Design to equipment installation and qualification; Participates in the project planning exercise, and definition of project requirements;

Participates in the designs, specification & selection of critical equipment.  Evaluates alternates, proposes and recommends solutions. Implements and supports the establishment of engineering standards;

Seeks innovative ways to improve reliability, compliance and cost performance of process automation/digital systems. Provides technical advice and direction to plants facility and utility teams.

Write and implement equipment URS, selection evaluation, process qualification protocols, reports and support plants SOP's documentation;

Supports and oversees the procurement, installation, & commissioning of automation/digital systems equipment, including the cost control and purchasing per assignments.

Assure compliance with current and awareness of developing regulations with regulatory agencies and corporate policies;

Fulfill job responsibilities in compliance with GxPs,  Advise management regarding appropriate action where applicable.

Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with at least 8 years of relevant experience, MS with at least 5 years, or PhD with at least 3 years of relevant experience. The degree should be in Automation or Process Control Engineering; or Mechanical Engineering;

Experience with process automation/digitalization design, development, validation and trouble shooting in GMP facilities are required.

Technically competent in multiple engineering disciplines, with a certain expertise in Data Analysis, Data Visualization, and Reporting Automation/Standardization.

Good understanding of GxP, Bioprocessing Equipment (BPE) requirements as well as Quality by Design (QbD) principles;

Proficient in writing and oral communication in English, adequate computer skills.

Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to shift gears between projects comfortably;

Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization, and good communication and interpersonal skills are highly desirable;

Must have experience in prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast paced environment;

Be able to travel for assignments up to 50% time.
