The Plant Controller for TIJAUNA PLANT, assumes the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for their plant’s end-to-end supply chain. Reporting directly to the MEXICO Group Controller and indirectly to the Plant Leader.

What You’ll Be Doing 

Compliance:

  • Provides oversight of all plant related GAAP, SOX and Vantive policy requirements
  • The Plant Controller has ultimate responsibility for their plant’s financial records (P&L and BS)
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures along with quarterly SOX certification.
  • Coordinate internal and external financial audits.
  • Liaison with Tax function on Income Tax related aspects of the Legal Entity.

Reporting:

  • Provides relevant, accurate and timely communication of financial performance (past, present, and future)
  • Manage month-end close in partnership with Shared Service Center and Manufacturing A2R (Accounting To Report) Teams, and publish accurate financial reports on timely manner.
  • Prepare monthly financial projection exercise with the support of the Plant’s Managerial Team.
  • Analyze manufacturing and other variances to latest projection, forecast and budget and communicate drivers to management with recommended actions.
  • Coordinate as required with HR on payroll activity, insurance, pension and other services.

  • As part of the plant senior leadership team, establish financial targets and monitor execution to drive operational efficiencies in an effort to achieve operating cost requirements.
  • Responsible for the preparation of quarterly forecast and annual budget. This implies close collaboration with Production Planning & Operations, Procurement, Quality and Other Functions.
  • Responsible for preparation of the presentation materials to Senior Management on plans, performance reviews.
  • Lead discussions for all financial portions of plant performance in monthly / quarterly reviews.
  • Identify and flag financial risks and opportunities to management on a timely basis.
  • Partner with plant functions to analyze new investment and business strategic initiatives.

Development:

  • Actively develops the financial acumen of finance and non-finance team members
  • Provide Leadership to the Plant Finance team, and support their development plans.
  • Promote Best Place to Work KPI; and Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles.
  • Deliver Finance Training to Non Finance to support a better decision making process in all areas.
  • Participate in plant specific activities and meetings

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting. MBA or equivalent preferred
  • 7 years’ experience in manufacturing or supply chain finance
  • 1+ year experience in "Maquildora" industry, IMMEX type programs, as preferred
  • Standard costing, budget management and capital analysis and control
  • Broad understanding of ERP systems and capabilities
  • Proven track record of identifying and implementing change
  • Has effectively communicated at all levels of the organization in both formal and informal environments
  • Experience in a global, diverse matrixed organization
  • Capable of executing a business case for change by analyzing and leveraging best practices
  • Maintains a strong presence, with the ability to manage indirect reporting relationships
  • Experience working with Lean concepts and tools is preferred
  • Proficient in Office applications (eg, Excel, etc)
  • Proficient in English communication (written and spoken)
