Vantive is seeking a Chemist Position on our Weekend Shift (Weekend Shift Premium inclusive). This role is responsible for performing analytical testing, supporting laboratory operations, and ensuring compliance with cGMP and safety standards. The role requires expertise in a broad range of analytical techniques, strong attention to detail, and the ability to support product release and quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Analytical Testing & Techniques
- Perform routine and non-routine analysis using:
- UV Spectrophotometry
- IR Spectrophotometry
- Polarimetry
- Atomic Emission Spectrophotometry
- Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry
- High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
- Conduct wet chemistry testing including:
- Titrations
- pH, conductivity, and colour analysis
- Limit tests and degradant testing
- Operation of automated laboratory titrators
Sample & Laboratory Management
- Log, bottle, and reconcile finished product samples
- Perform water testing in accordance with regulatory standards
- Prepare laboratory reagents and ensure adequate stock levels
- Support performance and calibration activities for laboratory equipment
Equipment & Materials Management
- Conduct preventative maintenance of laboratory instrumentation
- Manage purchasing of laboratory chemicals and consumables
- Maintain accurate inventory levels to support uninterrupted operations
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with cGMP, quality systems, and safety regulations
- Review and verify analytical data and calculations completed by other chemists
- Review "Tank Sheets" and support timely release to production
- Identify and support investigations, deviations, and CAPAs
Continuous Improvement & Support
- Participate in troubleshooting activities and Quality Improvement Teams
- Drive performance improvements in quality, safety, and release timelines
- Support cross-functional collaboration with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams
Additional Responsibilities
- Carry out ad hoc duties as required by management
Education Requirements
- Third-level qualification (Bachelor’s degree or higher) in:
- Chemistry
- Chemical Engineering
- Or a related scientific discipline
Experience Requirements
- Hands-on experience using analytical laboratory instrumentation
- Experience working within a cGMP-regulated environment, preferably in:
- Pharmaceutical industry
- Medical device industry
- Strong understanding of Quality Systems supporting GMP operations
